Weather in the USA
The USA has good weather on the whole however; parts of the Southeast are prone to experiencing the occasional hurricane or tornado but travellers are not advised to worry too much about these as early warning systems are extremely accurate nowadays.
The Atlantic Coast - states have long warm summers with relatively mild winters.
The Great Lake - states experience continental weather with warm summers and very cold winters. Normally you will find the lakes frozen for several months in the winter.
The Great Plains - states also have a continental climate with warm summers in the north and very cold winters the further south you go.
New England - states tend to experience relatively cool and temperate weather with warm summers and cold winters with snow commonly found in the highlands.
The Pacific Coast - states are warm throughout most of the year in the southern areas. As you travel further north towards Northern California it becomes cooler. Rainfall becomes more common as you head towards San Francisco.
The Western Mountain and Plateau - states are cool in the summer and extremely cold in the winter with snow falls especially in the northern areas. The higher up you go the colder and snowier becomes the weather. The desert areas are cold in the winter and very hot and dry in the summer.
