About Koh Samet
Koh Samet is the perfect island getaway without the hassles of air transfers from Bangkok.

The island of Koh Samet is one of Thailand’s jewels. Not only are the beaches stunning and the hotels luxurious, the best advantage is that you don’t have to transfer by air from Bangkok!

Koh Samet is only 2 hour road transfer plus an exhilarating 10 minute speed boat ride from Bangkok. Much quicker, with much less faffing around for beaches that are equal to those in the south of Thailand.

Ao Kiew Bay is at the southern end of Koh Samet and is breathtaking. It is textbook, with a gently curving 200 yard crescent of powder perfect sand, with rocky headlands at either end and fringed with palms.

Travel Junky Top Tip
The one road on Koh Samet is not car worthy! There are motorbikes for hire, but don’t do it unless you are a trained scramble rider. There are quad bikes for hire which are safer and much more fun.
