Weather in South Africa
South Africa has the complete opposite seasonal patterns to the United Kingdom. When we are having our summer (if you can call it that!) they are having their winter and vice versa. It’s fair to say that a summer in South Africa differs somewhat from that of the UK with an average of 8.5 hours of sunshine per day. In Cape Town the sun shines from October through to March, and the rain falls between May and August.
In Johannesburg the sun shines between May and October whereas the rain generally falls between October and February. Lastly in Durban the sun will shine from March through until August and the rain tends to fall in October through to April.
