The sun will shine in abundance throughout the summer months of June and early September and temperatures of up to 40˚C are not uncommon. The skiing season is in full swing between the months of December and March. The winters are often bitterly cold in France although the temperature becomes warmer the further south that you travel. Generally the weather in France is good although when it rains, much like the UK, it really does rain!
France Passport & Visa Information
France is a signatory to the 1995 Schengen Agreement.
To gain entry into France a full passport with at least 3 months validity must be shown by all nationals of Britain, Australia, Canada, USA and other EU states. EU nationals holding a valid national ID card may also use this to gain entry.
A visa is not required by nationals of Britain and other EU states for visits of an unlimited period whereas nationals of Australia, Canada and USA may enter without a visa for a maximum period of up to 90 days. Proof of a return ticket is not required for nationals of Britain and other EU states; however, nationals of Australia, Canada and USA are required to demonstrate proof of this information.
