Limassol promises sunshine, history, nightlife and fabulous food. The resort of Limassol is situated on the south coast of the island of Cyprus and offers the more active holidaymakers an endless supply of sunshine, water sports and fun based activities. The beaches in Limassol are stunning, with it’s seafront promenade looking over long stretches of dark sand and shingle beaches.

The night life in Limassol is fantastic and some would say the best on the island, with ample choice of discos and clubs. Bustling shops, tavernas, restaurants and bars, surround the beach but close by you can also discover the Troodos Mountains with its quaint wine producing villages.

A 3.5hr flight to Paphos followed by a 45 minute transfer to Limassol.

Restaurants in Limassol

For traditional Greek cuisine, try the Farnagusta Nautical Club on Nicosia Road. Enjoy your food on tables nestled under eucalyptus trees over a looking the sea dotted with ships from the nearby port.

Piatakia, at 7 Nikodimou Mylona in the new part of Limassol is another restaurant worth visiting. Cypriot food is served tapas style.

Quaint village outside of Limassol

If you can tear yourself away from the beaches in Limassol, then the quaint village of Kakopetria, high in the Troodos Mountains, is a must. It will take about 1.5 hours to drive there through the winding mountain roads, but the views are spectacular. The village of Kakopetria is slowly being restored and you can feel the charm as you wander round the stone cottages.

As hunger sets in, visit The Maryland Restaurant at the Mill Hotel. The restaurant is on the third floor with panoramic views of the Troodos Mountains. If you want one of the tables outside (with definately the best view) it is advisable to book ahead.

Flying Into Larnaca

The main airport that feeds the area is Larnaca International Airport which has the airport code LCA. It is located in the city of Larnaca.
