About Grenada
The island of Grenada has been rebuilt bigger and better since the hurricane that nearly destroyed them to become the perfect, most relaxing, Caribbean getaway.

The island of Grenada is only 12 miles by 21 miles – ideally proportioned for the traveller. It is large enough to have attractions, and small enough to do a lot in the day. Grenada’s best asset is the beach Grand Anse – two miles of beautiful golden sand.

When you do get round to hiring a car, you should visit the River Antoine rum distillery, which is still powered by its 1785 waterwheel; take a shower under the waterfall in Grand Etang National Park; and visit the morning markets in St George’s, Grenada’s capital.

If you are looking for a more back country beach experience, take the snaking coast road to La Sagesse.

In 2004 Grenada was hit by Hurricane Ivan. Overnight, 80% of the buildings were left roofless. What did the islanders do? They invented a new cocktail in honour of the storm. And it is a must have while you are there! The ‘Grenada Hurricane’ is made with dark rum, white rum and a splash of light rum – enough to flip anyone’s lid!
