Weather in Bulgaria
The weather in Bulgaria varies enormously depending on the altitude that you are at. The summer is by far the warmest time of year with limited rainfall. The south of the country is governed by the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. The winter time is usually cold with heavy snow. Throughout the spring and autumn rain is frequent.
Visitors must present a passport with at least 3 months remaining validity. EU nationals may present a valid national ID card.
Note: All EU nationals must produce evidence of their EU nationality and identity in order to be admitted into any EU member state. In all cases at least 3 months validity must be proven on all forms of identification. Possession of a return ticket and sufficient funds for the entire length of the visit is required.
EU nationals are not required to have a visa for stays up to 90 days; however for stays longer than 90 days nationals must register with the local police and obtain a special permit.
Nationals of Australia, Canada and the USA are not required to have a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
